We are now in Kampala preparing for the final move. We are purchasing things to make our rental home in Sudan easier to live in. Currently, it has no electricity or water. Michael purchased a tiny solar system to run one computer (and hopefully a light or two). He'll rig up a big plastic barrel with a spigot and two plastic basins for the kitchen sink. We got a wheelbarrow that we can carry water from the well to our home initally, and then be used at the building site when we are able to build a house of our own.
A larger solar system will follow and maybe a more sophisticated water supply. Right now we will try to get through our first 2 1/2 weeks, after which we'll return to Uganda to escort visitors doing an exploratory trip in East Africa. We're taking baby steps.
Our flight is scheduled for November 3rd.

Hey guys, just wanted to know that I am praying for your guys. Funny that this follows Kevin and DJ's post because I was just with them and the other WH folk at Ridgecrest.
Will pray regularly for you, knowing your hearts and knowing the difficulty there.

Karen, it's so good to continue this journey with you to this new land. God has connected our hearts to yours. Enjoy this new adventure, we'll pray for new friends, new favorite places and a sense of being caught up in the Story that is older than time.
We are praying for you. It sure was great to spend a good full week with you (previous post). We are still suffering from withdrawal.
Kiara says that she wants her own gmail account so that she can can keep e-mailing Acacia. ;-).
