Hot arrival (19 Jan 09)

We are back in Sudan now after traveling with family in Uganda and administrative time in Kampala.

When we arrived at noon it was 95 degrees and by 7:00pm it still hadn’t dipped below 90.  Michael hooked up 12 V fans over all our beds, they blow the hot air on us, somehow making us feel a bit cooler. They are loud, though.

Things are pretty calm here now.  The day we arrived there was a memorial service for one of the casualties of the LRA attacks.  The displaced people are around, but are all living with other people.

We have good lines of communication with those in charge of security, so we should be able to keep abreast of the situation.  We are feeling safe.
