Mahogany blooming

It is said that there is usually a mid-dry-season rain that arrives "after the mahogany tree blooms".  The blossoms had been seen, but the sun blazed on.  Yesterday, in a sudden turn of the weather, the rain came!!  Hours of off-and-on liquid coolness decended last night.   Clouds are keeping it cool today.  We are happy for a little break from the heat.

An interesting aside about mahogany trees is that their fruit is a hard, woody ball that bursts opens, spraying it's seeds.  Once it opens it looks like a wooden flower---beautiful!
