Thanks for praying with us for the Vision Retreat! We had a fabulous time together. We were able to talk through each ministry sector: water, agriculture, counseling, health, and education.
I am happy about the synergy between teammates. For example, Bethany has opportunities with Larissa to teach pastors about counseling. With Kim, she will conduct a teacher training seminar, helping teachers see that their privilege in training up image bearers of Christ. She and Christine will continue to meet with Secondary School students, increasing students understanding of who they are and where they've come from as well as building resiliency for the future.
There is the tension of utilizing our brains and creativity to plan and laying our plans freely in God's hands as we see how life will unfold.
We also had the opportunity to share our life stories with each other. It was helpful for us to build community. We spend A LOT of time with each other by living together, but conversations can easily become so familiar (like "Where are the clean clothes that were brought in from the line?") rather than the deeper currents of our hearts.
We look forward to continuing to plan with the church leaders in Mundri.
