What Comes Next?

Next week the Republic of South Sudan (RSS) will become the 196th country in the world.  They now have an informative website found at http://www.goss-online.org/ .  They have information about the nation and it's new government, new feeds, and a blog.  The document "South-Sudan Birth of a Nation What Comes Next?" that they have linked to the home page tells all about what happens on July 9th. Here is a bit of what can be expected:

1.  The Declaration of Independence and Statehood will be signed. 
2. "His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit is sworn in for a four year term as President of the new Republic.  A new Transitional Constituion also comes into force, subject to approval by the Assembly, and is signed into law by the President." 
3.  Over the next few months, the new currency, called the South Sudan Pound will be introduced.  
4. The offical working language will switch from English and Arabic to just English, though tribal languages will be respected.  
5. The Southern Sudanese who had places in the the government of Sudan in Khartoum will be reposted to positions in South Sudan.  
6. The new army will be called the "South Sudan Armed Forces"
7. Listen to the new National Anthem of South Sudan:

Uphold us united in peace and harmony.

Oh motherland

We rise raising flag with the guiding star
And sing songs of freedom with joy,
For justice, liberty and prosperity

Oh great patriots
Let us stand up in silence and respect,
Saluting our martyrs whose blood 
Cemented our national foundation,
We vow to protect our nation
