TEE (13 February 2009)

Four years of study has culminated in graduation for 10 men today.  They graduated from their Theological Education by Extension (TEE) from the Episcopal Church of Sudan today.  They took courses like:  Into to Old Testament, Intro to New Testament, Biblical Counseling, History of the Sudanese Church, and Intro to Islam (since Islam is a widespread and  aggressive force in Sudan.)  The beauty of TEE is that people can study in their homes and then gather regularly for group discussions.  This gives freedom for people to study without the interruption of moving far from their homes or without prohibitory high costs.  It is a great way to train lay leaders in the church and it is great to see this already functioning.
