School (Wednesday, Nov 12)

 

This is a week of firsts.  We started homeschooling today.  Acacia is in 5/6^th, Liana is in 3^rd, and Gaby 1^st.  I played it safe and stuck with the 3 Rs today.  We all sat around the kitchen table (which had been ordered from Juba and was waiting for us when we arrived) and learning actually occurred.  Gaby had to take a little break because of stomach pain. They had some oranges and porridge for snack.   By mid day we were finished and I had reorganized for tomorrow.  It was not as hectic as I had feared.  After we have this down smoothly, we’ll add on some more subjects.  I’m realizing that with this heat, we can’t go much past noon, so what we do, we must do quickly.
