A multi-month project is finally complete! Thanks to a generous donation from New Life Church in Glassboro, we've been able to build a water tower. Last year, we were able to have a borehole dug on church land. This water tower draws water from the borehole using solar panels. A tap has been built for our neighbors to collect water. Water will also flow to the ECS offices, our missionary homes, the bishop's future home and further developments of the land.
Materials were shipped up from Uganda. Angle irons were sawed by hand. Christine and Kyle learned to weld the parts together. Various summer teams helped raise the structure bit by bit with brute strength pulling on ropes. Then the tank was hauled up.
More recently, local technicians sank a submersible pump into the borehole. Then Michael and Christine installed the solar panels and built a tap.
This project took many months, but the end result is so valuable in this dry land. This was great experience for Christine and Michael and they are hoping to use their new-found knowledge to continue to bless people with access to clean water.
